Department of Civil Engineering, Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST), Arakkunnam, Kerala, India in association with Cafet Innova Technical Society (CITS), Hyderabad, Telangana, India is organizing International Conference on Innovative Trends in Civil Engineering for Sustainability (ICICES-2016) during 8-9 January, 2016. Conference aims to bring together and provide a platform to Researchers, Engineers, Scientists and Academicians as well as Industrial Professionals from all over the globe to present, share and exchange their research results and developmental activities about all parts of civil engineering for sustainability. ICICES-2016is unique in itself due to highlighting emerging trends in civil engineering for sustainable development, which helps the delegates to exchange their experiences and establish research relations for future research collaboration.

Toc-H Institute of Science & Technology (TIST), started in the year 2002, located at Arakkunnam, 26 km from the city of Kochi, Kerala. TIST is an ISO 9001-2008 certified institution, approved by AICTE and only engineering college under CUSAT which is accredited by NAAC and IAO. The college offers seven graduate and eight post graduate degree programmes. TIST is the first self-financing Engineering College in Kerala having an extensive Research Programme facility. TIST has defined four reasons for its existence; value based education to serve the weaker sections of the society, spark innovation among the young, nurture job creators rather than job seekers and make learning an enjoyable experience. Department of Civil Engineering
The Civil Engineering Department started in the year 2006, currently offers B.Tech and M .Tech programmes. Besides imparting classroom training, the department takes an active interest in conducting faculty development programmes, technical seminars, technical visits and discussions to inculcate the importance of research and development in the field of contemporary issues viz, environmental protection, waste management and sustainable development. The department is in close association with IE, ISTE and has an active student chapter of ICI & IGBC. The design wing “Rachana” of the department also takes up research and consultancy works to offer technical advisory support to various leading organizations.
The CAFET-INNOVA Technical Society (CITS) is an international non-profit organization helping the scientific community, laid its foundation in 2007 in Hyderabad, India. The Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to the professional needs of individuals and organizations involved in concrete. The ICI student chapter at TIST was inaugurated on 8th July 2011.
About ISTE-TIST chapter
The ISTE-TIST chapter was inaugurated on 10th Nov 2006 with the motto of career development of teachers and personality development of students and overall development of technical education system.
The student chapter of Indian Green Building Council at TIST was started on 17th July 2014. The vision of the council is, “to enable a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders in the sustainable built environment by 2025”.
